Preparing your cacao for ritual

ingredients

  • 4-8oz. of water (plant milk is also possible)

  • sweetener of you choice - honey, maple syrup, agave (optional)

  • additions of choice - cinnamon, chili, your favorite salt, vanilla etc. (optional)

  • your favorite mug

heat your water in a pot on the stove to just before boiling. remove from the heat, add your cacao and optional additions. whisk until well mixed. enjoy your cacao in your favorite way - during meditation, journaling, creating art, in prayer or anyway that feels magical to you.

please remember when experiencing 100% pure cacao that she is a plant medicine. dosages of cacao vary between people. a ritual dose is often as high as 42g, but daily doses are usually below 25g per day.

just an FYI, if you are sensitive to caffeine, Cacao has about a quarter of the caffeine of coffee — roughly 20–40 mg per serving — but it contains high levels of theobromine, which gives a smoother, longer-lasting energy boost without the jitters. please keep in mind, everyone is different and this is just a broad spectrum of people’s experiences.
