HELD UNDER THE SUN & MOON
Collective Witness Ceremony
Welcome.
If you are here, you are holding an offering created in collective witness.
Take a moment to settle wherever you are.
Allow your body to arrive.
Allow your breath to slow. There is nothing you need to perform or believe in any particular way. Simply being present is enough.
This offering honors the many lives currently being affected by immigration enforcement in our communities — lives that deserve dignity, safety, and care.
Today, we do not try to carry every individual story.
We simply refuse to forget shared humanity.🕯️ Lighting the Light
If it feels comfortable, gently turn on your candle now.
If you are using a traditional candle, you may light it.Take a moment to watch the light.
This small flame represents awareness and shared humanity.
Even a small light changes darkness. As this light glows, we hold space for those experiencing fear, uncertainty, or separation.
May this light reach places we cannot.
🍫 Cacao Moment
Hold your cacao in your hands or bring it to your senses.
Notice its scent.
Notice its texture.
Notice its weight. If you are drinking or tasting it, do so slowly.
Cacao has long been used as a heart-opening plant — not to erase pain, but to help us remain present without turning away.
As you taste, imagine warmth moving through your chest.
Allow compassion to move through you without needing to fix or solve anything.🌍 Collective Witness
Now, allow yourself to sit quietly for a few breaths.
Somewhere in this world, someone is experiencing fear or uncertainty right now.
Someone is waiting.
Someone is hoping for safety. You do not need to know their name or story.
Simply allow yourself to acknowledge their existence.Let this moment be a bridge between your life and theirs — not through guilt, but through shared humanity.
(Pause here ~20–30 seconds when recording)
🔥 Intention
As you continue holding this moment, gently place one intention into the world.
It may be protection.
It may be justice.
It may be comfort.
It may simply be remembrance.Know that by participating in this offering, you have already helped create tangible support within your community.
Your presence matters.
🌙 Closing
Take one deeper breath.
Allow yourself to return gently to your surroundings.
You may let your candle continue glowing safely, or turn it off as a symbol of carrying this light within yourself.
Thank you for participating in collective witness.
Thank you for choosing care.
