Mi Padre is a loving memorial to my dad.  Several times a week, he would sit after work watching television and have a small snifter of brandy.  Every day, he would have a double shot of espresso, but on nights we had dinner with him, he and my husband would add “sugar” to their espresso.  Sugar was code for a little brandy and sambuca.  This bar is lovingly created after weeks of infusing the beans in a jar of his favorite brandy, dried, cracked, winnowed and ground.  Eat this with a feeling of celebration and community.

Ingredients: single origin Costa Rican cacao from an indigenous woman owned farm, organic cane sugar, cocoa butter, E&J Brandy, Madagascar vanilla and love.
